A PACIFIC music copyright summit will be held this month in Brisbane, Australia, to discuss copyright law.
The summit will be held at the Judith Wright Centre on July 25 and 26, and will feature panel discussions about copyright law and practice both internationally and locally as well as perspectives on traditional culture and music in the Pacific.
Supported by the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the PNG Government and the Australian Performing Right Association and Australian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society, the summit would provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and development of an action plan for the formation of a composers’ society for PNG.
